Hi all,

I've loved my big, ugly Turbo Grafx for about a year now, and I've finally started expanding the little thing. I've recently ordered a CD attachment (this way I can get RGB from CD's without risk to a Turbo Duo's grafx chip). I have a CD system card 1.0, so I'm good for now, but I think of later, like when I hemmorage money for something like Dracuila X. I'm unsure as to the compatibility of CDs and cards across systems. For example, say I have an Arcade Card Pro (I'm gonna mod that thing yet) and Dracula X with my American setup. Would it work? Logic tells me yes, but I can't be sure. What I'm really asking about is a resource of some sort with a well-planned explanation of how everything does and/or can be made to work. Does anyone know of any sort of resource? Google gives me the Turbo List (great, but doesn't have what I'm looking for), and a bunch of trading and auction sites. Is anyone here in the know? Thanks all!

The pcenginefx.com sadly sank a while back but their message board is still afloat:

All System cards are downwards compatible, but not upwards.  To play Dracula X you need a Super System card, which is built into all CD systems except the original CD ROM.  The Arcade Card supports all CD games but there are two flavours: the Duo which works on everything but the original, and Pro, which works on all systems.

The other thing to consider of course is the Arcade Card won't work on US systems without a cart adaptor and some people have bad luck with anything but the Kisado, tho to be sure there's no shortage of uneducated fanboy bullshit surrounding the issue.  Any adaptor will work, but the Kisado has better odds againts being flaky.

That pretty much sums it up, did I miss anything?

Ah, many thanks! That cleared everything up. I'm just going to do a switch mod; I've heard too many stories about shoddy adapters. That, and I don't think I've ever seen a Kisado for sale...
