What address pin was it?
It might be going to some rarely used cart thing or just a non-critical one for those games.

If you have future quesions about these: http://www.freescale.com/files/archives/do...l/M68000PRM.pdf
I think that might have alot of good info. I hate adobe, though, so I have no reader right now.

PS. I hate cold solder joints.
Not as bad as the time I spent half an hour ruining cables not realizing that solder I was using was mis-labeled on the outer(not inner) packaging and it was SILVER, FLUX CORE LEAD-FREE.
Ruined my tip... I re-tinned it a few times, now it looks like an oak branch...

it was A2...

(i use Mac OS X, so a PDF is native to me)

EDIT:  I mean, A7 was the pin...

Rob,
Here is what I have access to right now and could test that wasn't on the list.  I'll post more when I have a chance.

Stuff that works:
Castlevania Bloodlines
Golden Axe
Light Crusader
Mercs
Phantasy Star 2 and 3
Shadowrun
Super Hylide
X-men 2

Does not work.
Shaq Fu - Boots but then goes to garbled graphics right after the sega logo.

Awesome. Master list has been updated.

Hello !

It's my first post, because I have just upgraded my Megadrive with a MC68010P10 and a 10Mhz Oscillator. (native CPU frequency)
I have no more slow down in games, but I will test @12Mhz if you know games who realy lag ?

Here are no listed games (JAP, except VectorMan2) that I have tested :

Working :
- Altered Beast
- Columns
- DaiMakaimura (Ghouls'n Ghosts)
- Darius II
- Forgotten Worlds
- Gaiares
- Golden Axe
- Shadow Dancer
- Strider
- Super Volley ball
- VectorMan 2 (US)

Unworking :
- Wonder Boy III (disclamer freeze)

I have moded my MD to JAMMA too... :P
And I got a secret project for it... I'll let you know in first.

All the best !

Well hey, that's one reason to do the mod right there!  It Shaq-proofs your system!

Anyway, I'd like to know how the 68010 works with Sonic 2's split-screen mode.  That would be the ultimate test of the new processor, since the mode basically forced the Genesis to do the work of two systems.

EDIT: When it comes to slowdown on the Sega Genesis, there's one game that immediately comes to mind... Mega Bomberman.  It was a poorly optimized Genesis port of Bomberman '94, with a story mode that's chock FULL of heinous slowdown.  Give that a try... if it reduces the slowdown, I'll really be impressed.

Sonic 2 in the split screen mode does work ok. It doesn't have as bad as slowdown as before but doesn't stay real time the whole time.

If you want to send me the game i could test it out for you and make a video of the game play that you want.  I don't have a copy nor do I know of anyone that has it.  Just thought I would offer it up.

The 68010 doesn't provide a considerable speed boost as you would expect from overclocking it to ~12-16 MHz, but it does give it a small kick (comparable to a 9 MHz overclock)
