I have a PS2 Logitech headset (the one with the mute/vol dongle) and the cord got ripped out of the mute/vol dongle. Can anyone tell me the wiring diagram/pinout of the headset? I would really like to use PC speakers for the audio and just the mic from the headset.

I can't find any info. on repairing the headset or modding it anywhere. But I know this would be the place to go for some expert help.

Thanks!

Aidan

I have the basic PS2 headset. The silkscreening on the PCB on mine labelled with the pin function. If your dongle does not have the pin function labelled, you might be able to tell from the positioning of the pins internally, and a little bit of guesswork.

For the headset, you should be able to figure out the pinout easily enough. The speaker will have relatively low resistance, so should be easy to identify with a multimeter. The microphone will have a very high resistance. The two sets of wires should have seperate shielding, so you can seperate them by function easily enough,
