PC-Engine RGB problems

I have made the RGB mod as featured on Gamesx for my Japanese
PC-Engine. I have a PAL TV.
I tried the mod without the amplifier and got a sharp but dark (and a bit
yellowish) picture as mentioned on the instructions.

I decided to make the amplifier for it but now I'm getting a black and white
picture. Everything looks nice and sharp but no colors!

I have double-checked the connections but I haven't found a fault on them.
Any suggestions?

If you overdrive the RGB signals many modern TVs will cut them off entirely, and what (often) results is a pure black + white signal generated from the sync input, try reducing the output power (increase the resistor value)..

Alternatively, if you short the RGB together they will combine into a B/W image, check that you haven't shorted anything.

Lastly, PAL TVs will often sync to 60Hz but not cope with NTSC colour, so if you bunged up the mod and your TV is switching back to composite video, you may get a B/W signal.

Many options!

I was going through the connections (which are still fine) but I noticed that the capasitors
which I bought had a wrong value. Damn that clerk, I even wrote the values on paper for
him but I guess he wasn't up to his job. (and I'm a fool for not checking these before
installing)
Oh well, gotta try it again tomorrow.
