rgb == component?

well, i got a new tv, wich has this component input, and i wanted to know if it is the same rgb as component. thanks.

No.Component video is color difference which is a format similar to rgb but green isn't actually there and is calculated by the luminance(brightness) information....or somethihng along those lines I am not 100% on the specifics.Composite sync is also on the green wire instead on a serperate wire.All of the modern consoles output component video (ps2,gamecube,xbox)....but thats it none of the older consoles will do it.You'll need a rgb to component transcoder for those,which shouldn't cause too much quality loss and will give a better output then s-video or composite.

Yep.  As you can see from the link you posted, RGB is not the same as "component video," but you can convert RGB to component video with the proper circuit.
