So i did a bit of searching, but what i found around the web and on Tokugawa seems to be inconclusive.

What type of SIMM modules are compatible with FM Towns computers?

Specifically, does anyone know what would be compatible with a CX20?
(i know, i'm being selfish)
Thanks!

For CX20 maximum of 8 MB in a single slot. The best option SIMM XMT-8000 BUFFALO.

Thanks for the info
The BUFFALO SIMM modules are really hard to find, since they're official FM-Towns merchandise.
What makes the XMT-8000 fm-towns compatible? Could i use a different compatible simm module instead?

Matching memory modules should have the correct SIMM-ID (memory size / correct SIMM-ID) or they are not recognized by the computer. Or incorrectly determined. For example, module 2 MB would be defined as 1 MB. Need 72 pin SIMM memory without ECC.

I see.
Do you think this would work if i soldered the right pins to ground?

It is written that it is possible. The truth is with the caveat "at your own risk." I am not on friendly terms with a soldering iron, I bought XMT-8000.
