Hello,

I have a PC-9801 UV with included Yamaha YM2203 card (on a proprietary 68 pin IDC bus, not C-Bus). I try to play some OVI files or other formats from DOS command line. But I don't know what I need to play these files. Which driver is needed for an YM2203 card, and wich program to play OVI file ?

On a PC-9801 FMDSP.COM (FMP driver) claim for a 386sx... Is there a FMP driver for Nec V30 CPU ?

on the other side, PMD driver works. I can play "M" files with PMP DOS command line player.

Thanks !

Try these. These are from the YADHI HDI image and they work well enough for playing a lot of PC-98 Music formats. http://retro-type.com/PC98/MUSIC/drivers.zip

Start by running FMP-ON.COM and making sure that the TOOLS directory is in the same path you run the file. Once the drivers are loaded, there is a rather nice music player that can be used called MSDP.EXE inside the TOOLS directory.

Yes, drivers from YADHi image is the firsts that I tested. Only PMD works. FMP asks a 386sx.

But I found correct drivers from Vector's Website (FMP-SYSTEM). This driver works great and "play.com" can load OVI, OZI and OPI.

This is the problem with v30 machines, users focus on PC-9821. Because of that, early PC-9801 models suffers from a lack of documentation.
