Guys bought a memory board off of yahoo japan that is supposed to be for the X68k but cannot find anything that matches it. could you guys take a look and let me know if it is ok to use?

What's the number printed on the ram chips (the ones standing vertically at the back of the board). How much ram was it advertised to have?

That looks like a 1Mx4 chip, so that means it's a 5mb board.. Weird... 

You might want to wait till some of the more experienced members here chime in, but it sure looks like it should work ok.

That is not true ! Let's take another board for example.

This has four 424400-60 chips which have 1 048 576 words by 4 bits. The ram needs to work in 8 bits so the final amount is 2Mb.

The unknown board has twenty MM514400827 chips which have 1 048 576 words by 4 bits. This means that it is a massive 10Mb board !

P.S. Wildo2Ne, could you please make a good quality high-res, unblurred photos of your board from both sides for the Wiki ?

Check the RAM chips. If all 20 of them are MM514400827 then you are a very lucky man

sometimes you just have to plug it in and see what happens, it comes up as the 10 meg ram board

Thank you for the pic. Could you, pretty please, make two more ? It would be best if you did it outside where there is enough light. All these pictures somehow look too dark. One straight of the top and one straight of the bottom of the board. It would be very nice if all of the picture was unblurred. Sorry for being so picky. It's for the Wiki - to protect and preserve.

Ive found that using a flatbed scanner is an awesome way to take pictures of smaller boards like those.
