Compact Keyboard Question

I typically see a lot of X68K Compact keyboards up for auction on Yahoo! Auctions. However I'm unsure if a Compact's keyboard is a better or worse choice than the normal full keyboards, as it seems to be lacking a number of  keys, specifically the numpad. If I remember correctly, the numpad is used to control a good number of games (as directional buttons), so wouldn't this mean that the Compact keyboards are unsuitable for what I'm looking for?

Or perhaps I'm wrong and they do support directional keys. It's up in the air for me. Can anyone shed some light on the subject?
