Trying to rebuild neo ccd3 board (neogeocd)

Hello to everyone in this wonderfull forum  .

I have a strange request .

I need to rebuild a new neo cdd3 1 board (joystick board ) from a Neo geo Cd top loading consolle. The board it'n not so complicated but the only problem I have is to understand what a strange component is. The component I think it's custom chip from snk and it's called neo buf 944. I think
it's like a converter for the pad signals.

If anyone have more info about this component I will go on with  my project.
