Hi everyone, I'm new to the forum, and new to getting RGB signals out of old game consoles in general. I've done a few searches, and haven't been able to find the info I need, so please forgive me if I missed anything.

I live in the US, and I have a 55" LG LED tv. I am using composite cables to run a recently acquired SNES to it. I would like to use the method of converting this SNES scart cable http://www.play-asia.com/paOS-13-71-24-49-en-70-64.html  to component using one of these: http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-SCART-RGB-YPbPr-Component-Video-Converter-Scaler-/220698773457?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3362ac07d1. (I am aware of the fact that I may have to experiment with different power supplies, and/or adjust the internal trimmers for color balance)

I will also need a scart switch for stereo RCA audio out (and to add a Genesis later on). I would like a quality switch, and need opinions. I am considering this one: http://cgi.ebay.ie/4-Way-Scart-Switcher-Block-Gold-Plated-RCA-Audio-/250784806190?pt=UK_Computing_CablesConnectors_RL&hash=item3a63f0752e.
Or this one since it's already stateside: http://cgi.ebay.com/SCART-Splitter-4-Way-Switched-RGB-Support-/380314721917?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item588c861e7d
Also, this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/3-Way-Switched-Scart-Splitter-Box-RCA-Phono-Cable-/140474174190?pt=UK_Computing_CablesConnectors_RL&hash=item20b4e9caee#shId.

I am a bit unsure about buying the one with the molded cable, because if it goes bad, it would be harder to fix than the other one, where I would just have to replace the output cable with a new one. How well does this scart stuff hold up over time?
Any info is greatly appreciated.

well i got this. http://www.ebay.com/itm/170584937733. Its a manual switch that disconnects and reconnects. so no weird effects like turning one console on and having it mysteriously power up a second console. it also has gold contacts.

it also gives me no noticable picture degradation and works great with my encoder, and you just cant beat the price.

forgot one thing. you need an adapter to break out the audio to rca. they are also found cheap on ebay . break it out on the output side, and use a 5 wire component cable to go to your tv. you really dont need those scart cables that break out audio on the cable itself. its a much cleaner cabling job to just have one set of rca for audio.

as you're in the US, I presume you are using the purple breeze block/super famicom, (pal / euro ver is 17.6% slower and nasty large borders on top of4:3 on  16;9 tv)

the pins are different on the multi av socket output ( compared to the ntsc snes), pal snes scart cables will not work on ntsc machine ( classic nintendo fiddle with the output region lockout) see link

http://nfggames.com/forum2/index.php?topic=3413.0

you need super famicom rgb compatible scart for pal tv cable.

please note it's widely known some certain korean tv may not handle rgb, but it's probably unknown territory using rgb to component video converter, so quality issue may happen or not is another matter, whether it's lag, colours, flickering, etc

nevertheless, the best ( but expensive) option for snes visuals is using a xrgb2/2plus/3/mini, original japanese rgb for japanese rgb 21 pin, shvc-010 and either super nintendo (purple breeze block, i am using) and super famicom which i have. pc engine and ps one/ps2 is used via xrgb 2 plus as well as second ps2 with a hd box pro
