N64 RGB output connector options/altetnatives

Now That I found that hardwiring component cables to the n64 board is not possible I am lead to the following question.
What is the easiest ad cost effective method to get my RGB N64 playing on my North American TV? CRT and LCD both?
Will I HAVE TO get an upscaler like the XRGB etc? Or is there a much cheaper alternative?

Can I somehow adapt the SCART end of a modified GC component cable onto a regular component end?

Me's really wants to play my RGB'd n64... ......

The least expensive route for RGB to component (RGB N64, ect) would be to buy a RGB to component converter:

The only issue with this is that the SCART RGB input doesn't pass through audio, so you'd need to either modify the unit with audio output jacks, or have audio output jacks on the SCART end of your RGB cable.

There's also the GBS-8220 for connection to a computer monitor or the PC input of a HDTV:

The XRGB-3 works best with LCDs and PDPs and provides line doubling with scanlines and sharp pixel resizing modes, but has a hefty price tag by comparison to the two options above.

I'll go with the component converter route for now and save up for an XRGB unit.
Any known issues with the CVS-287?
Reason I ask is that I'm in the process of modding all my Retro Systems into RGB. A buddies helping with my NES  & Genesis right now.

Problem is, it has a male SCART  connector on it and the SCART cable itself is male as well.  
Plus I'm sure that it is just an adapter and not a converter, right?

I just purchased a CVS-287 unit off eBay and also found a Kramer FC-14 for cheap and bought that as well. I'm just waiting now for it to get to me.  
Remember, I need 2 devices, 1 for home and 1 for work. FC-14 is staying home with me.

Might be a good option for folks with flat panel displays. Apparently supports 240p input correctly as well.

I'll let you know what happens. I ordered all this mess for around 20$,so no real loss If It does not work because I would still need the Scart cable anyway to use the converter boxes.
