I'm looking at getting an NEC MT820.

H-Sync Range:      15.0 - 60.0kHz

It has Composite, S-Video, and computer monitor inputs.  If I get a sync separator to make horizontal and vertical sync, is the computer monitor input likely to accept an RGB signal from a Genesis?  (Or is the 15khz rating probably only for the S-video and Composite inputs?)

Thanks!

15kHz describes all normal resolution displays in the US and Japan (TV, etc.). Might I suggest Lawrence's many video primers on the gamesx.com home page? They might help answer some of your questions.  ;)  The rating is for all inputs. CVBS and S-Video are always at 15kHz; it's the RGB that has a wide range. That should be able to accept Genesis video and RGB, as well as progressive scan modes from a GC or XBox (though to get such signals you need special hardware). Looks like it is more PC orented though. And damn, is it expensive!
