I just got a quote back from an online electronics distrubuter for CXA2075M chips...the super rare, supposively top-notch quality NTSC encoder chip.  They want $30 EACH!

Now, that's a lot of dough for a chip....but does anyone think it's so good (over the CXA1645) that I should buy one?

Ouch, $30?  That's pretty harsh, but it IS a rare chip...  I'd buy 3 for $10 each, but one for $30?  Nah.

That said you could pop one in a Saturn and make the kids on the forum jealous.  =)

Yea, I thought that was pretty steep.  I went ahead and sent him an email trying to bargain him down to $10....we'll just wait and see what happens.

If he does drop the price I'll probably have to buy them in bulk (at least 10 or so), so if some peeps are interested (like you Lawrence) I can front the $100 and sell off the excess chips ;)

Give us all a heads up if you do work something out with him.  Rock on man.

I'm potentially interested too, but I'd need some help with the spec. I'm pellucidity on the N-G boards/

Segasonicfan

yea, I can help with any specs....no problem with that

Got a quote from another company for $19.80...still a little high, but anybody interested?  I think the minimum order is 15 pieces at that price :/
