Hi to All,
Can anyone advise me pls? I have recently bought a White Pc-Engine and it is completely dead, nothing happens when u switch it on, no power light nothing. I used a 9v plug with a power converter, and have also bought a new plug and I know they work so it can't be that. I am certain I did not blow any fuses etc as the power light never came on at all, not even for a second.

It's time for a multimeter. If you're sure that the external power supply is good, then you need to open up the PC-Engine unit and search for bad power connections. Look specifically for traces that feed directly off of the power connection, as well as any of the 79XX power regulators that you might find inside. If that's not immediately obvious, then look for the pin-1 5V and 12V power inputs on the IC's. Something's not getting power, and it should be easy enough for you to find.

There is no power light on a PC Engine, you won't be able to determine function that way.

The typical points of failure in a PCE are:
Power connector (oxidized, scrape it)
Power connector (broken, re-solder the pins in the PCB)
I think there's also a fuse.

They're easy to open with needle-nose pliers.
