DIY Component -> RGB and visa versa

I'm looking to build on own Component->RGB converter as well as RGB->Component

I want Component->RGB so I can hook up a PS2 to my PSOne LCD screen.  Yes, the system outputs RGB, but DVDs have macrovision (so they play in green) and games turn to a greenish tint after about 30 min playing.

I want RGB->Component so I can hook up my Gen+other systems to my HDTV =)

I found some schematics do it.  this one seems way too easy.  Would this really work?  I tested it with a diff op amp (the LM833N) and I couldn't get a good picture.   I'm going to buy the proper amps tomorrow and give it another shot.

What is strange to me is that this schematic is the same thing but requires more circuits.   Maybe it's because it converts the sync too, but I thought you could just hook up Y straight to that line?  If not, where's sync for the first schematic???   Also, what's whith the resistor ratings at the bottom of the page?  It give two ratings for the same resistor X_X

Here's what I found for RGB->Component.  What does it mean by DC Coupled RGB though?

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks!
