Atari 2600 AV Mod

hey, i had a 4 switch motherboard lying around so i got it all wired up in a cardboard box, as its new case.. plugged it all in, put a game in, switched it on, and freaking nothing.. its getting power, but the screen does absolutely nothing, no flicker when switched on, no change in static, and no, it isnt bad tuning..

so, i decided to try adding av out to it so i can see if its just a screwed modulator, but i couldnt find anything useful at all with google, which is strange, cos i swear i've looked it up before with plenty of results..

so, anyone care to give any info?
