Colored N64s

Are the colored N64s really required for stable overclocking?  The gray ones I can easily locate, but the colors are few and far between.  I really don't want to resort to paying a higher price on ebay if there is no real reason to do so.  Are the mobos really any different? thanks

This has been something I have been wondering too! From what I understand  its only a heat issue, so if you put on a better heatsink or some active cooling you might be able to pull it off. Yes, the mobos are different.

My grey/black N64 is overclocked, havent had problems with it yet.  Just try it, won't hurt, their not expensive if u mess anything up anywho.
