Does anybody know if the problem with lack of brightness is also present in some of the commercially available VGA adapters? I just got a brand spanking new 10-inch VGA monitor for Christmas (portable gaming, ho!) and I've noticed that the whites are bright, the colors are vibrant but the shading is overwhelming. Just curious to know if anybody else has applied a similar fix to non-homebrew boxes.
