Just playing Spindizzy II (great game)
However, it doesn't seem to let me create a User Disk to save progress etc.

I put the disk in and create, confirm I want to format. Then I get a screen with Japanese writing.
Can anyone advise what I need to do?  ???

A picture of the ''Japanese screen'' you are seeing would help quite a bit.  ;)

[Bus Error, please reset.]

How are you running this game?  If you are playing it off CF/HDD and trying to make a real User Disk on Floppy, it is not going to work.  Spindizzy II is not designed to be played off HDD, it is being forced to run via software tricks, most of which change the drive letters and file paths.  Meaning when the game tries to access the floppy drive to write the disk, it is actually being directed to the HDD, hence the Bus Error.

Cheers!
Yeh, I'm playing from hard disk image v4.

Can't find a disk image anywhere to transfer to floppy. I'll keep looking....

 Hi X-Col !

Here is the compilation of games which were found by Craig Anderson and which are currently not in the TOSEC:

Yes, Spindizzy II is there.

Keep the scene alive !

Ok, so I created a floppy of Spindizzy II and the game runs fine from it.

I insert a blank disk and then select 'Make Userdisk' but it just keeps saying 'Set Blank Disk !'.

Can someone give this a go and see if they can successfully create a User Disk?

I'm stuck!  >:(

Just tried in emulation and found the blank disk goes in drive 1:
Drive 1: does not work on my Compact....

So no playing the game on a real X68000 until I fix my ACE  :(

Update:
Created 'User Disk' in emulation, wrote disk to floppy. It works in drive 0: on real X68000 when playing game from HDD Image V4. Nice!  ;D
