So far i have the connections to the HU card connector pins/legs are done ,so once you snip those 8 legs, these perfect fitting sockets just push onto them and it's a snug fit,so you don't have a risk of these tiny sockets coming detached ,but an option of then applying heat shrink to further strengthen that joint is an option available to the user.

And as i really like using these crimp terminals,i'm using those i have left to attach to the other ends of the wire coming from the sockets, to headers on the region  IC pcb,so it's another plug in affair .Now the only awkward point i've reached is where and how to find a way of getting the IC's Vcc and Vss points on the console's pcb.The one thing i'm toying with is using those tiny pogo pins /test pins which will fit two specific points (holes) on the console's pcb . Those pogo /test pins are what they used on the xenium spice solderless adapters, the mod chip for the original xbox .

have any pictures to get along with all that technical jargon so us non pc engine modders know what you're trying to do here?  (I'm sure it's awesome whatever it is)

Basically a region mod for the Pc engine /core grafx that involves no soldering to attach it to the console.Comes pre built ,so the customer (you)can just plug it in .
Piccies later !

Out of the many places to get +5 Vcc ,using one of the tiny through hole points ,a capacitor ,the voltage regulator's out put leg or even one of the legs leading out of the back of the HU card connector.I've just opted to use leg 1 of the HU card connector for both the spdt's Vcc and the IC's Vcc source ,Vss/gnd is attached to the grounding base of the console.

So everything is mostly done now, except hooking up properly to the back of the HU card's snipped legs, grounding the HU ic's leg and attaching the signal wire to the pole of the spdt switch.Once that's complete ,photos will follow.

With or without an LED to show region states ?
