I have a Super Nintendo and play it on my NEC XM29 plus through RGB and it looks awesome. But I just got a Super Famicom and the picture on my NEC XM29 plus via RGB is a bit too dark. I thought the SNES and SFC had the same hardware? Why is this like this? Solution?

Your best solution would be to pick up a different SFC.    My SNES from '92 has darker noticeably darker RGB and Y/C output than my SNES from ~'95.  I have an older SFC that I haven't tried yet and will let you know how that compares...
