X68000 Software / Etoile Princesse etoile.r file
Last post by Shentok - June 03, 2024, 07:38:33 AM
I was curious if anyone looked into this file to see how it can be modified for the game. There's mention of a debug mode and it'd be wonderful to explore what it could do assuming modifying the file does anything. I've tried a couple of things, but nothing seems to happen differently in game.

SIG PC-98 / PC-9821 Ce2 CDR-260 cdrom driv...
Last post by soviet - June 03, 2024, 07:22:40 AM
When my new PC-9821 ce2 arribed the cdrom drive worken fine until about 10 open-close sessions.
Started making a terrible grinding noise, disassembling the drive found that one of the gear that works the tray seems to be made out of cheese and become very brittle.

The gear is the one in red.

From searching on the web found a couple of pages talking about a 3d print model of the gear.

But all of the pages point to broken links or tweeter post that are no more etc..
Maybe someone have the stl file ?, or where to look for it ?.

Also, does anyone know how to get the HDD led to work with X68000 and the BlueSCSI desktop version?
Is the flat cable you purchased a rainbow colored 20 PIN, with a red wire sticking out?

If so, you must connect the red wire that protrudes out to the positive LED pin (+) found in the center of the three pins at the top on your left.

Quote from: bobrocks95 on April 21, 2024, 02:14:53 PMJust purchased an X68000 to refurb and posting here just to show interest and track if there will be another run of these in the future.  Hoping to get one of these or the Etarikashikoshi board.

Thanks!

Maybe you can find an XVI owner who wants to sell theirs :D

That's fair!  I don't think I'll get into overclocking such old hardware (though I did see this odd CPU replacement board on Yahoo Japan Auctions that intrigued me) so I'd certainly buy one at cost if there are any disappointed XVI users with one!
X68000 XVI have 16MHz CPU speed, and X68030 model has 25MHz CPU as standard, no need to overclock.

Etarikashikoshi midi + ram DOES NOT WORK with these models, but the manufacturer (Arananet) still does not indicate it on the site.

The arananet etarikashikoshi midi + ram card is back on pre-order if anyone is interested: https://www.arananet.net/pedidos/product/etarikashikoshi-x68000-8mb-ram-midi-board-preorder

I've pre-ordered one but will jump on an AJE version too if another run comes up again.

Cheers!

@ateam was worth a try...

I had a lot of problems with some games that used the Cyber Stick, or Mega Drive controller adapters with HDD image, for example Knight Arms.

You can try replacing your version of Star Trader with the Eidis version: https://nfggames.com/X68000/Music/Eidis/X68000.zip as I explained in my guide, previously.

If you place the game Die Bahnwelt in partition D: it will crash, but you can still try...

Some games work better on the primary partition inside the Games folder, they are more stable and faster to load.
