playing ntsc nes releases on a pal console

sorry i'm a total noob at all this but i've just got an ntsc cart for my pal nes and i was wondering if there is any easy way to play it. when i put it in my system and switch on the power the title screen is displayed but the console constantly resets itself. any advice would be well appreciated
