I need some help with my Super X68K. It has the SCSI2SD card in it. I hadn't used it for a while and could not boot into the HD image of the SCSI. By mistake I set the boot to SCSI ID1 using the Switch.x command. Now every time I try to boot the machine via floppy or HD image, I get the following message. Even holding HELP and 0 does not force it to boot off the floppy. I am assuming it's trying to boot off a SCSI ID1 device, which does not exist. Can you guys help? Thanks.

What happens if you try to boot while holding down the OPT1 key? That should (?) take you to the floppy insert screen.

That worked. Thanks!

Now, how do I set it up properly, so that I can boot off the SCSI SD card that has the V4.HD image?

The reason i went down this path was that I had not used my Super for a while and it would not automatically boot of the V4. HD image. The V4.HD image was corrupted. So I created the V4.HD image again on the SD card and have not been able to automatically boot into the HD image. I tried following the directions on here, but I could never get it to boot off the HD image.

Thanks for any help folks can provide!

Glad to hear!

I strongly suggest you setup your machine using the newer image below. It's FAR better.

Incrediblehark kindly created PDFs to walk you through the setup. Take a look...

ok, so I setup my machine using the newer image that you recommended. The system starts and boots into the scsi image now. However, the V3.02 IMA image does not include the Games1/2/3 folders that had all the games from the V4 ima image that I had downloaded previously. Unless I am jut missing where to look on the new 3.02 IMA image. Thanks for any pointers you can provide!

Use the 1 and 3 keys on the numeric keypad to move forward and backward through the different disk partitions, have fun!

turbo87

hitting 1 and 3 just takes me to the top and bottom of the disk partition. I am not seeing multiple partition. I burned the V3.02 IMA image on to a 16GB sd card and loaded it onto the SCSI2SD sd card holder. Any ideas why I am not seeing any other partitions? thanks.

This happens because you probably haven't configured the file: SxSI-SCSI_SCSI2SD_CONFIG.xml.

Read on page 7 of the guide: SxSI-SCSI HDD Image Install Guide revB.pdf, It will explain everything to you.

You will then be able to see the other partitions.

Thanks. That's the issue. I have reached out to Incrediblehark via DM. I have a V5.1 of the SCSI2SD card and the instructions talk about V5.2.

incrediblehark

Hey sorry I just saw your dm reply. If you think the xml won't work for your version you can set up the scsi2sd manually using the screenshots in my guide. But id try the xml first anyway

I would like to share a doubt with you:

On this site https://docs.scsi2sd.com , at the point "Latest firmware" regarding the differences with the various hardware and firmware revisions, it is specified that the hardware revision v5.2 with firmware v5.2.0 states: Add support for seven SCSI devices.

Conversely, with hardware version v5.1 with firmware v4.8.4, nothing is specified.
Can someone provide further clarifications?

Guys, I just uploaded the XML file into my SCSI2SD card and I can see all the drives now. BTW: There was a guide under the readme section. Is a PDF file of that file available somewhere?

Thanks for all your help here! Much appreciated!

incrediblehark

Glad you were able to get it sorted out! As for the readme and user guide on the drive, I do not have a pdf for that as it was meant to be read while using the x68000. But I can see export it and share as one if that would help.

No worries. I am good for now. Thanks though.
