I know its is most advisable that you ground the pin on the graffics chip to change the video signal, but I also noticed that leaving it ungrounded has the same effect.. Ive tested them both for long periods of time with no noteable differences.. could I just insulate the pin without grounding it to change the video signal?
As.. I havent seen any differences yet :(

Edit: Oops, I just realised I got it the wrong way around yeah here it is right:

5V or Ungrounded = 50Hz
Grounded = 60Hz

So I can use ungrounded or 5V to achieve 50Hz safely?

I suppose it may work like that too. anyway, don't you want to add a switch to select 50 or 60 Hz ?? If so, adding ground is just the same as not doing it, and it's 100% correct.

Yeah I am adding a switch.
I just wandered whether or not connecting ground and 5V was essential.

Better do it, I think. It takes more or less the same time ;)

too late  :o
I just did the mod and put it all back together, I asked around.. apparently adding 5v just gives you a more reliable results or something.. but I dont care :D

Oh yeah PS
I left the 5V disconnected.. i got a bit mixed up earlier.. you dont need 5V for the mod at all.
