It migth sound stupid but I can't get rid of the LED cable in my Mega Drive, I want to mod it, and it is really anoying ;) How can I safely remove it and put it back?? from the board or from the led?

also, for drilling the cases, what do you recomend me??
I have a Dremmel tool, but I think I can't use it because can't use drill bits of more than 3,6mm, and switches require more.

Thanks again! ;)

I just melted the stupid little platic part that holds the LED in...
Then later I soldered it back onto the mother board (without the plastic part).

Thanks Martin. I'll work something out.

what about drilling?

NFG

To remove mine I first removed the large plastic ring that goes around the top of the MegaDrive.  There are a few 'posts' inside where the ring was put on, and then melted to hold it in place.  I used a dreme to cut these melted bits off.

As for drilling, any drill + bit will do (sharp ones, obviously.  Cement bits are NOT a good choice!).

patroclus02

Well, not any drill. I mean, how thick does it have to be?? 5 mm ??

well, no offense, but it's YOUR switch, how  would I know how big it is?

patroclus02

Well, I meant a standar switch, those that appear in almost all pictures. anyway you're right, it was a dumb question :)
