Keyboard restoration

I scored a pretty decent deal on a "junk" keyboard.  The translation said something about it not energizing and being in generally bad condition.  Which the pictures confirmed, and when it showed up I could tell it came from a smoking environment. 

Anyways, here is the before / after:



I tore it down completely and cleaned everything.  The smell is now gone, and it looks much better.  Most importantly, it works!  Well sort of... the leds don't light up.  Not sure what that is about, I didn't see any obvious damage to the board and components.  Things I may do at some point:

  • Replace the two caps
  • Reflow all the solder joints
  • Replace the LEDs
