Yes.  So many questions.  If this thing can replace drive 0/1 via external FDD connector - it will bring so many compacts back to life!

Compacts it's easy to use external drive, as they have a switch on the back to select internal or external for drive 0/1.

This is meant for more full size machines.  If you look at some of the pics, you'll see a small cable coming out to the front of the unit from between the two towers.  That is a jumper.  Opening and closing it will switch between the real floppies and the HxC/Gotek.
