I just got a Super Famicom NTSC-J no mods, I wired up a 9v DC 1amp power adaptor (centre neg) and connected to a 3in1 svideo/Av cable(N64,XBOX,PS2) was working fine connect via svideo for about 10mins (bight sharp colourful picture) then while testing SFII The colour on the plasma went all washed out like it's missing a colour. I tried connecting via composite and same thing! Tried another lCD tv same thing.
I also tested on my PAL snes and it's perfect via composite but svideo is washed out (PAL has always been like this)

I dismantled the 3in1 cable and took out the ps2, xbox cables it's now just wired for left, right audio, composite, Svideo and ground (no didn't connect any other console at same time lol) there is no resistors or capacitors in the cable so that may be the problem?

hey all I have also tried a Genuine Nintendo Pal AV cable and I get the same green picture (looks like it's missing a colour) any ideas or should I toss it??

What capacitors & resistors run in a NTSC-J sfc cable?

japanese super famicom socket is wired differently to pal super nintendo, it's seems that your multi s-video cable is for a pal super nintendo, you need a s video cable for super famicom

i believe that a super famicom compatible s video lead will be same/similar/compatible with n64 and gamecube, find it easy on ebay

should be cheap on ebay as well.

on the other hand shvc-010 japanese rgb 21 pin cable is a rare and expensive item

If you pop open a genuine pal av cable connector you'll find a resistor inside, snip it off and you've got an NTSC av cable:)
Never throw out a console, I'll buy them in any condition.
