Does this Xbox VGA mod really work or not?

Do you think this just works for a PAL Xbox or will this mod work for an American Xbox too?

The cable will work, but only with a firmware upgrade. You'll need to modify your box to accept a new BIOS that was developed by one Pixel8. Even should you go to all the trouble, you need patches for just about every other game to get them to work properly. A huge pain, especially in light of newer alternatives such as the X2VGA or VD-Z3.

There's something I was still wondering: do PAL Xboxes/Cubes output a progressive signal? If so, the XSelectD4 would be fine, I think.

Yeah, I just remembered; PAL XBoxes and Gamecubes don't do progressive scan output. Apparently, the modes were locked out by the respecitive companies. If I were on that side of the water, I'd riot.
