making a console expansion unit, how would this audio amplifier work?

I'm making a special expansion unit for one of my favorite game consoles, mostly all hardware mods for a console that has unreliable hardware (so when its parts inevitably fail as they tend to do, new mods won't have to be repeated).

I want to make the sound quality of the system better. Hopefully noticeably superior to what is typically assumed normal.

I saw this;

http://cgi.ebay.com/Bravo-Tube-Headphone-Amplifier-V3-EQ-Equalizer-valve-US_W0QQitemZ260677485333QQcategoryZ12050QQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp4340.m263QQ_trkparmsZalgo%3DSIC%26its%3DI%252BC%26itu%3DUCI%252BIA%252BUA%252BFICS%252BUFI%26otn%3D10%26pmod%3D260660392475%26ps%3D63%26clkid%3D4911818728332891481

And am very tempted, but I'm not sure if it will fit in the shell I have for the expansion unit.

I'm guessing that is the enhancement I want, but I'm worried about the quality of that device. The entire idea behind my expansion unit is to have a permanent piece of hardware that NEVER fails, but that tube in the amplifier might go out?

What do you guys think?
