Hello I am a newbie here. I have had a Sony PVM-2530 for a few years now and have used it for everything from a video monitor hooked up to a pc, to a tv hooked up to my fios box to a video monitor for watching movies. I have been wanting to use this to experience RGB from my playstation2 and xbox for quite some time. I just recently purchased a mad catz 3 in one console cable with audio breakout and scart end on it. My PVM has a DB25 pin out. I know on other sites that people have made female scart to DB25 converters for themselves and others. Is there anyone that could make one of those for me? Since I already invested in the cable, the converter seems the logical way to go instead of buying something else, unless someone out there has something to sell that would work for me. Like a modded mult scart box with a DB25 interface end on it. I am not that adept at soldering otherwise I would do it. I just am too busy and have alot on my plate. I live in Virginia and would be willing to pay a reasonable price for it or trade for it. Thanks for your help and suggestions.   :)

Hm, I was also wondering what was necessary to do such a thing as well.  The posts on here about the subject seem to be more about the Japanese 21 Pin RGB (http://www.gamesx.com/avpinouts/rgb21pinj.htm) but I don't see a reason why it wouldn't work with the European SCART as well (if I am wrong let me know).

RGB32E posted the parts necessary for such an endeavor:

To make things harder it sounds like you'd need a ISL59885 (for the PVM 2030 at least, according to Segasonicfan) in order to separate the sync of the Sega Genesis.  I'm interested in getting RGB picture, but I'm completely inept so it will take me a while before I can claim success.  All the same, at least it gives me something to do.

No, no... The PVM monitors will accept just about anything as sync - composite video, Luma (from S-Video), and composite sync.  No sync separator is needed for any system.  The composite sync output from the Genesis 2 can be "fixed" with a series 100uF electrolytic capacitor.  If you use composite video as sync (Genesis 2), you'll get jail bars (every other column of pixels is lighter).  :-\

As far as sync separator ICs go, I've only dealt with the LM1881N.

Ah, thank you RGB32E, that's good to know.  Would that apply to a 32X's output as well (I'm using it in a Model 1 system)?

What, the 100uF series cap on CSYNC from a 32X connected to a G1?

I've never setup that combo.  The connecting cable(s) between the genesis and 32x degrades picture quality.  This is caused from the poor quality system to system av cable, and the circuitry to combine the two video signals... What's worth playing on the 32x anyways! ;)  I personally have maybe 10 32x games.  Fun for the sake of novelty, but that's about it!

That's true, there's not a whole lot out there right now, but I do like what Chilly Willy is doing as far as 32X homebrew so I don't wanna rule it out.   All the same I agree with you and won't lose sleep about getting it to work with the PVM.
