I've got a handfull of Saturn Controllers, and figured it was about time I used one on my PC. Now i've looked at pinouts and a bunch of other tech docs on the Saturn controller, and I've had one question that hasn't been answered, do you HAVE to have a 'controller port' to use these on a pc. As in can't i just lop off the end of a controller and wire it to a DB-25 and let it work it's magic, or do i need to find a Saturn Multitap / Extension / spare port to wire it to a DB-25? In theory i suppose i could just put a DB-25 at the end and let it fly, but i'm unsure.

Don't see why not. I did the same with a Playstation controller. just use a multimeter to make sure the lines are the correct ones.

Great!

Now i can give this a shot, however another question, is there the need for resistors as shown on the PSXpad's wiring site for the saturn.. or is this just for the ports to DB-25... of course i'd think i'd need'em anyways to regulate within the wires. but who knows.
