Has anyone made something or knows something that lets you use DC controller with your PC (wether it goes to LPT, COM or USB port) ? ... or I have to buy a PIC and figure it out myself ?

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I've seen a DC Controller to PC USB Adapter out there.

The Trio Linker II Plus supports Gamecube, PS2 and Dreamcast controllers - http://www.play-asia.com/SOap-23-83-lss-71-6m-49-en-84-j-70-1zfv.html

I don't know of any other product that supports Dreamcast controllers on PC.

I saw something called the "3 in 1 PC Joy Box".  It supports Saturn, PS2 or DC to USB.  Hope that helps.

Homebrew controller conversion that doesn't involve modification of the pad always involves programming. This means getting a Programmable Integrated Circuit (PIC) with serial input and output, and coding it up so that it interprets input from the controller and sends the output that the destination device can deal with. Programming of this nature is outside the scope of this forum, but posters with expertise in the matter are welcome to contribute information.

The maplebus serial interface is not all the complicated, especialy if your just gong to grab joystick buttons codes.

I'm gong to attempt an avr translation with it soon, curently working on a few others. If you're up for it and have the skills I'll show you who to go about it. You wll need avr burnr software and an ossiloscope.
