psone controller pinouts

hey there! I'm nearly done with my psonep but have reached an impass.  in wiring up the standard psone controller, i realized there are nine pins normally within other dualshocks, but in the psone controller there are only eight and I was wondering if anyone knew where those eight are supposed to go?
