Ok, you know how on a model 2 Genesis, the EXP slot (used for Sega CD), can output it's audio to the Sega CD, so you can use the RCA jacks without a mixing cable?

Those exact pins, are they a "No Connect" then on a model 1 Genesis?  Because a model 1 Genesis don't output it's audio to the Sega CD (thus it needs the mixing cable)..

Cause, if the pins are not connected to anything then, on the model 1 Genesis, i plan to solder a connection...

You claimed a while ago you had an oscilloscope. Can't you just monitor those lines when the unit is functional?

i do have an oscilloscope..   it's messed up though, it won't take anything over 1v  (i think the probes are shot)...

and im almost certain i'll end up tapping TTL level contacts...

it's probably pins 27, since these are from a model 1 pinout..

I'll use a continuity test on the Sega CD on pins 27, and see if it goes to the audio...

Audio signal levels would probably be well below 1v. You're just looking to see if there is ANYTHING passing through there. If it's a 5V signal you were looking at you could also just attenuate it or put it through a resistor.
