PAL gamecube modding

I've been searching for a way to obtain an  S-video signal from my Pal gamecube for weeks (I really hate the quality of the RCA Composite output, looks like crap once deinterlaced on my computer), and I was already thinking of buying an RGB to S-Video transcoder...(really expensive I must admit, and it would take space on my desk)... but today I found something on this site talking about outputting S-video on a Genesis 3... and then I just thought ... might it be possible the PAL gamecube has the same hardware as the NTSC, which would mean it is easy to mod a gamecube to output an S-video signal... supposedly ... ? Sorry for the bad english, I'm french and I haven't been practicing for a while....

The GameCube doesn't use a standard video encoder, like the Genesis.  Your only real option is to convert the RGB somehow.  

RGB->Svideo encoders are not expensive, and can be found for $40+ if you're lucky.

you can buy a pal booster and modify it if you can solder. they have them on lik-sang, theyre designed for snes, but if you have rgb output from your gamecube, itll work there too, youll just have to add a few connectors to the booster. otherwise, just buy a fully functional one like lawrence says for not alot more.
