Well since the cost of 21" + CRT VGA monitors has gone down significantly in recent years, I've been considering picking one up on the cheap, and using a converter for those older systems.Anyway I've seen this adapter around at various places but have no idea of its quality, so I'm wondering if anyone around it here has used it: http://www.vipjia.com/com/dgh/ns_detail.ph...&cpath=&catid=0

It's similar to a X-RGB2, but is obviously aimed at the arcade monitor market and so is missing all of the extra features one might want.It is just a card with a rgb input and vga output, which would account for its much cheaper price (it can be had for around $89 US new).

EDIT: Found a site that shows a bit more detail in regards to specifications and installation instructions  although no details on the components that it uses. These guys also sell a number of other (mostly more expensive) converters which some you might be interested in:

They seem to be linked http://www.highway.net.au who are an arcade part distributer in Australia, although they are not known for having the best prices. They are selling this card for 110 USD (once GST is added on) and I have seen the card going for around 89 USD new.

EDIT 2: They seem to manufactured by a Taiwan company that manufactures Arcade and PC monitors, who are also known as being great options for cheap replacement arcade chassies:
