i got a commodore 1084s today, it has a d-sub rgb input, which i could only find under 1084dS in the hardware book, and after alot of confusion, i worked out the megadrive pinout is for the MALE connector, where it looks like a female one. and also the top row of pins for the 1084 d-sub rgb port is back to front.
lawrence, this one's for you to check out, i would have sworn someone would have said something by now if the pinout was wrong, but it definately is the other way around on my monitor, i thought i'd done it all backwards, i was getting alot of red and not much else, but it was syncing, so i looked at the pinout, realized red was going to be the same either way, and the other two colours were getting grounded, i thought maybe it was syncing cos it was accepting sync through the h-sync pin (im a n00b) so i swapped the whole thing the other way. i got nothing cos there was no sync. i then put the sync line back where it was before and i got a perfect picture....
