Cyberblock Metal Orange EX - Trying to use mouse scroll wheel?

Bought Beep's reprint of Cyberblock Metal Orange EX plus this mouse adapter from them- https://channel.beep-shop.com/products/detail/48665

The game has an option in the menu for Digital/Analog control, and switching to Analog allows you to use the mouse to (kind of poorly) navigate the menus by sliding it left and right.  The manual for the game shows analog mode as sliding the mouse left and right as controlling your ship.

However, once I start the game, the control for the ship is mapped, very slowly, to the mouse's scroll wheel.  Nothing I'm seeing anywhere indicates that control should be on the scroll wheel for this game.


So two angles to approach things from I think:

• Has anyone played this game with analog control and can confirm if it's *supposed* to be controlled by moving the mouse left and right?
• Has anyone used this particular USB mouse adapter to know what's expected behavior for it?
