Trouble entering FMV Towns BIOS setup

Kind of a weird issue here. I am getting a "IRQ conflict" message when booting my FMV Towns (Fresh GE) and when I try to enter the bios setup (screen says "press CRTL-ALT-Esc") nothing happens. The computer has a new BIOS battery and by pressing F1 it does boot normally... but I would love to get rid of that boot message. Any idea of what I have to do to enter the bios setup? Is this some weird keyboard issue where the japanese keyboard has a special key for this? (I am using a regular Model M)
