Hi

I have got installed in my Sharp a 1gb compact flash card with the Acard AEC-7720U  card, with the that games pack hard disk image installed on the card as described in this guide:

http://gamesx.com/wiki/doku.php?id=x68000:hard_drive_on_sasi_machine

The problem i have is that on occasion, the machine doesnt seem to recognise this card on bootup unless i reset the machine or switch it off and back on again. When it is recognised though the machine works fine with it. Is this normal or should something be done about this?

Regards

 Hi !

It could be not enough ground problem. Have a look at two pictures which were contributed by Dhampird (thanks again ;) ) in the before mentioned link regarding cable pinouts and connect all grounds together as instructed. It should help.

Best of luck !

This is also happening in one ACE with AztecMonter I have.
I am using and stock flat cable that came with the ACE HD.

But I think the problem is my CF Card. I tried to stick to Kingston, because it works for me always - the ultra, red model.
But I had to get an extra CF and bought the green model, also 4mb. And when using this one, it fails to detect the OS some times. It works, but sometimes when just turn the computer on, it can't boot. I switch it of (rear button) and on, and then it usually works.

Actually, just yesterday I had a CF card go bad.  I have several of them with different images (because I don't know how to partition  :P ) and one of them just stopped booting.  It boots the other ones without an issue.  So, I think the CF cards do have issues at times.  Just my assumption.
