About MO Drives and HDD

Hi everyone, I am a soon-to-be X68000 XVI owner! I managed to get the RAM Expansion, Keyboard and Mouse, VGA adapter and even the Aztec Monster (Still hunting for a Midi Expansion card though  )

While I am waiting for all of it to arrive, I just realised that the unit I will be getting is very likely to lack the internal HDD Cable.

I believe there is a guide on assembling one (Which I will try my make one...) but I was wondering if I will be able to make do with an External HDD of sort using a SCSI MO drive in the mean time?

I mention this as I will be getting two external MO Drive as well. (One SCSI and One USB to be used on my Windows PC).
