I have modified my SNES to disable the region chip (run pin 4 to ground) and fitted a 50/60Hz switch.

It plays imports fine and switches between 50/60Hz fine with the RF lead, but when I use my SCART lead (RGB to you Americans) it displays the start credit of the game when you turn it on, but then it fades to black. The music carries on playing though.

Would this be something to do with the TV or is there something wrong with mod?

The TV works with a US Playstation and PS2...

All help is greatly appreciated.

This is a common problem, there are two kinds of cables, those with de-coupling capacitors inside, and those without.  Remember when the PAL GameCube came out and everyone was whining about the RGB cables not working?  The SNES had cables with (or without) these capacitors, and the GC wanted the opposite.

What you're experiencing is a problem with these capacitors.  Open the SCART end and have a look - if there's no caps, add them.  If there are caps, remove them (or short them).  They should be 220uf caps.

In my experience, PAL SNES and modded NTSC N64 don't need caps, NTSC SNES and PAL GC do need caps, NTSC GC needs the whole 9 yards with the digi/ana cables raped into a SCART socket.
Hope that helps.
