I performed the N64 RGB Mod (the one where you run lines from pins 17, 19, and 24 on the U4 chip to pins 1,2, and 3 on the multi AV) but on my Sony PVM-2530, it looks a little dark. I can adjust the brightness, but it looks washed out. Every other system on this monitor looks great on my monitor.

any ideas?

You have two options at this point. Lift the pins on the chip if you did not already. This might make the image too bright or open the image up to interference. Your only other option is to build an RGB signal booster. Here is one, just for the N64.

i had only just found out about the saurian method of lifting the pins off the board, i had come to the board to try and spread the info heh

it would have been helpfull if the tutorial page for the RGB mode actually told you about this, since when i tried the RGB mod i farted around with it trying to get it not to be dark and burned the pin off the chip for green

i got a replacment n64 now but am only using S-Video

Excellent idea, why didn't you update the wiki after your issue to save someone else from your ordeal? ;)

i didnt know there was a wiki, all i knew about were the guides on GamesSX.com main page

How does lifting the pins brighten the picture? I'd like to know.

Interesting. I'll try that with my N64 later.
