In my quest to understand more about the PS2's video, and hopefully trick it into doing Progressive Scan without the aid of a boot disc like Xploder HDTV, I googled around and found this:

Last month somebody uploaded a complete service manual (with a secondary manual attached) for the SCPH-30000 model PlayStation 2. This manual contains detalied schematic and circuit board information along with parts lists. The secondary manual shows you how to correctly disassemble a PS2.

A fantastic find and very useful for those wanting to know more (and hack up) the earlier model PS2's.

I should note that although it says it is in multi-part form you only need to download the part on this page. The rest appear to be empty folders.

Made a little mistake: You do need to download all four parts. As you decompress the pieces it will assemble itself.
