New x68000 owner to be - and looking at CZ-6BE1A recreation

Evening all,

Thought I'd introduce myself - I've got a "junk" X68000 ACE-HD on the way, my first foray into the X68000 world :)  I find half the fun of old 80s and 90s computers is getting them back up and running, so I'm looking forward to the challenge (I think it's going to be one!)

I've already done a lot of reading on here and have got a fairly long list of To Dos and I haven't even seen the thing in the flesh yet.  First thing is to sort out any battery damage then either repair or swap out the PSU for a mattsoft PicoPSU.  I'll be getting some mattsoft boards built so will probably have some spares I can offer if anyone needs one - I'm UK based.

Once I have it up and running (he says, confidently...) the first upgrade I'll be looking at is adding an extra 1MB of RAM to get it upto the necessary 2MB.  Given the scarcity and cost of the CZ-6BE1A / PIO-6834-1M I'm considering designing a recreation.  The logic and memory chips still seem to be somewhat obtainable.  One thing I'm not sure about though is the 60-pin(?) connector.  Does anyone have any information on this?  I'm hoping it's some kind of standard that is still obtainable otherwise any kind of recreation will be off the table.

Anyway, cheers for all the information shared in the forum, it's already been hugely helpful.  I'll probably be back with a load of questions once it turns up :)

Awesome, thank you BlackVega!  Looks like that part is still available new.  Not sure if it's the socket or the plug I'd need on the expansion, I'll check tomorrow.  I have to ask, how did you figure out what it is?

My ACE-HD turned up today :) Really great service from akihabarabeep on ebay.  I'm very happy with it's condition - some treatable battery leakage on the IO board.  The main board looks great - maybe some sign of flux / rework on some of the capacitors by the VIPS chip, but that could be factory for all I know.

I haven't opened the PSU yet but its apparently dead, so parts for the picoPSU replacement are on the way.  In the meantime, it's cosmetic cleaning, battery clean-up and CZ-6BE1A recreation design to keep me occupied :)
