I've have tried to mod my N64 NTSC to support RGB but without any luck.
I've have tried different modding like:
- sold the wires to the VDC-NUS-A (no pin lift) and the video socket - image is dark;
- sold the wires to the VDC-NUS-A (pin lift) and the video socket - image is dark;
- sold the wires to 3 points on the bottom of the PCB and the video socket - image is dark;
- sold the wires to 3 points on the bottom of the PCB and 1 point and the video socket - image is bright and beautifull but have interferences (some lines on the screen something like rf-out);
- tried with and without capacitors on the rgb scart - without the capacitors everything it's "ok" and with the capacitors the image become very dark and have interferences (some lines on the screen something like rf-out).
So, from my point of view this VDC-NUS-A video chips have some problems with RGB modding.
Anyway I recommand to use S-Video, bright and beautifull image.
