Dreamcast: CSync 30Hz in VGA mode?

First post woohoo! Here goes...
I got scart cables for most of my consoles to run through a scart to component converter. The dreamcast is a bit of a mystery.
It seems possible to rig up a cable with a switch so as to switch from 480i to 480p (VGA) as my converter supports up to 1080i resolution. My question is when in VGA mode does the DC CSync line switch to 30Hz?
If it does it would obviosly simplify things as I won't have to combine the H and V sync signals.
For an added bonus, are the sync lines at 75 ohm impedance or do they need buffering?

Thanks!

If anyone else is wondering, CSync is interlaced frequency only. If you want 480p composite sync you need to combine the hsync and vsync. Also the hsync and vsync lines need buffering as they're intended to drive vga TTL sync inputs. I'll put some notes on the wiki when I finish the mod.
